Kick-Start Your Fitness in 2021

The internet is a great thing, it can give you access to a lot of good information. But unfortunately, it’s also overwhelmed with poor, unqualified and misinforming advice from people who pass on what they have heard from a friend or saw it on another post!

Try it, search “how to start a workout routine.” You’ll see a list of endless results, some of those are great pieces of advice from very renowned, highly regarded sources worth the read.

For example, the Mayo Clinic (America’s number one hospital) has five steps to success:

  1. Assess fitness level.

  2. Design program.

  3. Assemble equipment.

  4. Start.

  5. Monitor progress.

I am not going against this five-step process, in fact totally agree with it, however they are not straightforward or simple tasks, especially for average person.

Let me ask you just a couple of questions. Do you know, are you totally comfortable designing a fitness programme for yourself and then do you have a proven system to monitor your progress?

You do not need much to get started, however it has never been, and at this time it’s even more so, expensive to buy the minimal level of equipment.

If you do manage finding anything that is the right price, what do you buy? A kettlebell, dumbbells, those are the easy ones. Then you have a whole host of companies trying to make you buy their “revolutionary piece of kit that replaces all others” and “gets you results with only 10% of the effort”. Oh, and don’t forget the “watch this video” and “take this supplement” and all you need to do is sit there while you get fit and lose weight!

Let’s start with some honesty. You do not need anything to kick-start your fitness. For a lot of us, just start with a walk every day, gradually building up distance and speed. After a time turn it into a jog or short run. You will soon see progress!

Finding your way through all this can be totally overwhelming!

Almost every day someone comes to us being totally confused and frustrated, having tried this plan or that programme, or been to that other gym. Some haven’t even got that far and have given up trying altogether before eventually calling us.

Looking for help and support improves your success. The role of a good Personal Coach and gym is to demystify the process, to pass on clarity and understanding of the process. Leaving you one role to carry out, number four in the list above, ‘Start’.

That’s it, forget the points on the list, that will just make everything way to complicated. Number four only, that’s your responsibility. We’ve got everything else covered!

We Can Help
We are experts in each of the items on the list above. Assessing fitness level, designing programs and monitoring results. It’s what we do every day. We also have all the equipment you’ll ever need.

As for your responsibility, number four, that’s we really come into our own, because we can motivate you and inspire you. We may say it ourselves but it’s our super-power: making fitness fun.

Think about your job. People come to you because you know how, you guide, you support and you provide a solution. Believe me, it’s not fun trying to figure stuff out on your own without the right knowledge and tools. It’s frustrating!

The Mayo Clinic right: “Starting a fitness program is one of the best things you can do for your health.”

Remember, you don’t have to figure out what to do and go buy a lot of kit. All you have to do is click (here) and book an appointment to talk with us!
